🌿 About Liberatory Living

✨ A Place to Reimagine What Is True

Liberatory Living is a space for those wanting to slow down, become attuned to their bodies, hearts, communities, nature, and discover simple living that allows for more personal and collective freedom.

Founded in the belief that none of us are free until all of us are free, Liberatory Living promotes daily practices and larger visions for abundance, sustainability, becoming unburdened from the modern way of living, repairing harms of oppressive systems, to allow for collective thriving.

Based in Barbara J. Love’s Liberatory Consciousness model, Desiree Adaway’s Praxis for Liberation, Bobbie Harro’s Cycle of Socialization and Liberation, and Just Transition framework, Liberatory Living consciously intends our offerings to move individuals and communities toward liberation, acknowledging the intersectionality of oppressive systems.

Why Liberatory Living?

Cultivating the freedom we desire happens each day, in each moment.

It’s how we breathe.
How we feed ourselves.

How we care for self, others, home, Earth.
How we pay attention to our impact on all beings.

How we ask questions as caring and seek change as flourishing.

Liberatory Living was birthed out of the desire to live beyond extraction, consumption, oppressive systems, digital tethers, limitations caused through conditioning, and into something more grounded, conscious, inclusive, and empowered.

I acknowledge that I live and work in and with the land of so-called Gilbert, AZ, traditional O’odham Jewed terrirory and so-called Placerville, CO, traditional territory of Pueblo.

✍️ About Me

It’s so nice to meet you! I’m Anne Williams- writer, poet, ecotherapist, sun-goddess at heart, inviter of warmth and light, Aunt Anne to two amazing nephews and three phenomenal nieces, fur-baby spoiler, plant food and tea lover.

I am a white, cis, middle-class woman, living in a larger body. I have lived experience being diagnosed and treated for mental health issues by the medical-industrial complex, though I now understand many of these experiences as part of my spiritual awakening. My pronouns are she/her.

I acknowledge the unearned privilege afforded to me from aspects of my identity and continue to examine and re-examine ways to be actively anti- racist and actively dismantle ways white supremacy shows up in my practice.

Through my experience in mental health work and mindfulness-based healing, as well as my own personal healing journey, I’ve learned that transformation happens in our everyday practices, just as sun shows up each morning to transform darkness into light.

I believe in poetry, music, meditation, nature, interdependent relationships, as medicine. Medicine for the modern maladies of overconsumption, technology addiction, excessive work and social inequities driven by colonial, capitalist, white supremacy systems.

You’ll find my work weaving together pleasure, playfulness, tenderness, truth, justice, wildness, and wisdom. Welcome!
